Sabbath in a Temporally Discombobulated Society:

How Changing Our Metaphors for Time Can Change Our Lives

APRIL 18th, 2026

9:00AM-11:30AM ET

The Church at Clarendon, Arlington, VA

We’re delighted to invite you to a special Sabbath Symposium hosted by Rising Day Ministries in partnership with Leland Seminary. Join us on Saturday, April 18, 2026, from 9:00–11:30 AM (ET) at The Church at Clarendon (1210 N. Highland St, Arlington, VA) for a meaningful morning of reflection and conversation.

Our guest speaker, Dr. Travis West, will present “Sabbath in a Temporally Discombobulated Society: How Changing Our Metaphors for Time Can Change Our Lives.” In a culture where time often feels hurried and fragmented, Dr. West will help us explore how reimagining our relationship with time can open the door to deeper Sabbath rest and renewal.

The morning will include a light continental breakfast, Dr. West’s presentation, and a time for Q&A. For those who cannot attend in person, a virtual participation option will also be available via a livestream link emailed to you on the day of the event. Tickets are available for a small registration fee.

We would love for you to join us for this thoughtful and encouraging time together as we explore the gift of Sabbath in our modern world.
